About Us

We are a small workshop making oars by hand. To us an oar is more than a spar: shaped and balanced by hand, it pulls well, it sits right in the hand and, cared for, it lasts. That is what our work is about.

What pleases us most are the rowers and clubs that come back, and the oars pulled and kept for years. That is the sign that craft and care are worth something.

We work by hand. Choosing and shaping the spar, forming the blade and loom, balancing and finishing, step by step, with care. It is exacting, absorbing work, and that is where the difference from a machine-turned oar lies.
